Tete-a-tete with the glamourous star-
Q. Hi. Adah, do tell us about your background before everyone came to know you as a film Diva?
Adah– Hi, to you and all my fans. Well, I was born in a Tamil family and was raised in Mumbai. My dad was a captain in the Merchant Navy and mom is a Classical Dancer. I finished schooling from Auxilium Convent High School in Bandra, Mumbai. While still in school, I had decided to become an actress.
Q. Do tell us about your association with the Film industry till now?
Adah– Initially, I had to struggle a lot. I auditioned for several roles in Mumbai, but was rejected either because of my curly hair or because the makers felt that I looked too young. Finally I got the lead female role in the 2009 Hindi horror film 1920, directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film was a commercial success too, And then there was no looking back. I also got the Best Female Debut nomination at the 54th Filmfare Awards. Then I did a series of South Indian films. And with Hasee To Phasee ending up as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2014. After that, I did a series of Telugu and Kannada movies, most of them were hits. Recently, I did the thriller Commando 2, a sequel to the 2013 film Commando: One Man Army, where I play the female lead role of an inspector opposite Vidyut Jamwal. Now a few Hindi, Telegu films are on the floors. Shall begin shooting once this lockdown and Covid19 crisis is over. Lots of good things happening. I shouldn’t speak about them now.
